Cam Jordan shocks Saints fans by taking shots at team's latest moves

Coming out of the 2026 NFL draft, a lot of people would say that the New Orleans Saints improved on multiple fronts, including on the edge. However, current free agent Cameron Jordan is not one of those people.

The Saints' all-time sack leader seemingly threw some shade towards his former team following the draft weekend. "I don't know," Jordan said when asked what the new additions mean for his future in New Orleans. "There's nobody (the Saints acquired) who produced the way I did last year, so. My talent speaks for itself. And if things work out, phenomenal. I've always said I understand the business side to it, so I've never worried about it."

If none of the additions on the team can play at his level, then maybe the best thing for the two is to get back like they never left. That seems to be what Jordan is implying here, and it wouldn't be the first time that he'd let it be known that he'd love to return to New Orleans.

Saints should still be on the search for pass rushers after NFL Draft

Cam Jordan's comments aren't completely defenseless, because the players New Orleans added aren't really known as pass rushers. At least, not yet.

Linebacker Anfernee Jennings signed with the Saints the day after the draft ended. A third-round pick by the New England Patriots back in 2020, he hasn't made his name known for getting after the quarterback. Rather, Jennings been known as a run stuffer throughout his young career.

Tyree Wilson, whom the Saints aquired from the Las Vegas Raiders for one of their fifth-round picks, is a former top-10 draft pick who has struggled to produce at the professional level. He's never gotten more than 4.5 sacks in a season since being drafted back in 2023, a far cry from what his potential says he could be.

Currently, the Saints are still in need of another pillar at the end of the defensive line. Good thing there's one on the market right now, and they even have his number saved already. If Jordan does come back, he could not only be one of the few HOFers to be on one team his entire career but also teach the two new young guys or two about how to get to the quarterback. Not many players get an opportunity to be a part of a team's future like that, and right now Jordan has it right in front of him.

This is the way that Jordan should build his legacy. Not by clout-chasing or ring-chasing, but by leading the next generation on the field. Hopefully he sees it the same as well.
